Bro, this is easy. If your girl has a Pinterest account you're golden - just log on to her account or create one so you can look at all of her Pins. Sure she'll have some stupid Memes pinned on there but there will always be an entire shopping list of stuff for you to get her. My wife is amazed at every gift I get her b/c it's just waht she wanted.

If she doesn't do Pinterest just snag a few of her favorite clothes and head to the store. Ask the girl working there for some help to get something similar or to compliment what she already has. This of course works with jewelery too. You'll look like a fool if you show up with yellow gold for a girl that has nothing but white gold.
