In the inaugural SEC championship format back in 1992 UF was improbable as a team could be with its first two SEC games a loss...against Moo State and UT....UT had the world in the palm of their hands.....but the pressure got to them..UF started winning their games and at the end UT couldn't avoid upsets...on Halloween favored UGA played UF in the WLOCP and the Gators pulled out the W and went to the very first SECCG instead of UGA or UT...which was huge for Spurrier and the Gators which started making it an annual rite of passage.
BTW 1992 was the first Spurrier led team that was not that potent...graduation had claimed a lot of great players who were there when the OBC arrived in 1990. His first recruiting season had fared poorly overall...abd in 1992 we had two true frosh start on the OL and that is why we got better as season wore on...the young players got better abd we had young defensive players who would go to have great success.
Mizzou is now feeling the pressure and it would not surprise me if they lose two more SEC games paving the way for UF/USC...but playing USC at Brice Williams is hard road to travel...we will see. UGA will be eliminated this weekend.
