I was fine with letting the country go into default, then maybe our elected officials would quit mortgaging our future and actually start acting responsibly. Not going to happen though, until there is a huge shift in the country, and that is likely not to happen in my lifetime.
Way too many like giving and receiving entitlements that are undeserved and unnecessary.

Such as tax breaks for high earners and corporate entities.

My generation is going to have to work until we're dead. Except for the ones who are fortunate enough to become high earners. It's a shame that we are kicking the can down the road and creating more and more financial issues for future generations.

But, IMO, the Tea Party is too damn extreme. The only way the Republicans are EVER going to get the WH back is to have a candidate who is socially liberal and economically conservative.
