I wanted to post my thoughts on how I think we'll do in 2014, based on info now, bookmark it, and see if my opinion would change before the 2014 season.
We should be returning 8-9 starters on offense. If we only lose Shaw and Patrick, our OL is going to be redonkulous.
We should return 7ish starters on Defense. Clowney, Sutton, Legree and Hampton. If for some reason Hampton stays and Quarles does as well, we'll have another great defense.
Biggest loss will be Shaw and Clowney. Teams have to scheme specifically for those players and often use multiple players to spy or block against them. They gave us a competitive advantage numbers wise on many plays.
With that said, how do the games go:
vs aTm - Game is in Columbia, aTm's defense sucks real bad, JFF is their only real offensive weapon and they are losing a lot of offense players this year. W
vs ECU - It's ECU..., W
vs UGA - Game is in Columbia, Murray is gone, great RB's still there, their defense should be better, no Shaw to scramble, uga had a bye week before the game, but out offense is still awesome. Homefield adv wins this. W, but only 70% sure
@ Vandy - If Franklin is still there, Vandy gives us a tough game, just like uga will. If Franklin is gone, it's a blood bath. W
Mizz - No Franklin, but their backup this year is getting PT. They do lose 3-4 OL, and 6-7 people on defense. Gamecocks Roll. W
@ Kent - Too many holes at Kent, not enough recruiting championships yet, Gamecocks leave them black and Blue. W
Bye week
Furman - Seriously, a bye week before Furman, that's a waste. W
@Aub - This will be the toughest game all year. Aub has recruited well for 4 years, it's an away game, and their team is looking better each week. We've historically done shite against them. (W, but only 51% sure.)
UTk - It' UTk and Justin Worely with an new OL, W
Bye Week - Now this is a good bye week placement.
@UF - Another tough game, they lose 5-6 defenders to the NFL, they lose some WR's (not that it matters,) They lose a ton of OL. We catch them on an off year b/w their stellar recruiting cycles. W
South Alabama - Yep. W
@clemsux - You wanna talk about a team that'll be pissed off. They will have lost 5 in a row to us, and are playing at home, possibly for Abo's job. No Boyd or Watkins, but returning a lot of players on both sides of the ball. Another tough road game for USC, possibly with a BCS for either team on the line. If Chad Morris isn't there, we win easily. (W, but only 66% sure)
So the 4 cruicial gams are
UGA (W 70% sure b/c of homefield)
@Aub (W 51% sure b/c I don't like forecasting defeat.)
@UF (W 60% sure b/c I think their offense will still be terrible.)
@Clemsux (66% sure, goes up more if Morris is gone.)

Seems plausible enough I suppose.
The time is coming, and it'll probably be next year, when we become the hunted ... the one with the target on our backs.
I've been saying since before last season, since Summer of 2012, that 2014 was going to be our year. I'm sticking with that - I think we run the table next year regardless of who brings back what from the other programs.
I know why I feel that way and have for some time ... no matter how many times I try to talk myself out of it I keep coming up with the same reasoning, the same answers.
