What exactly is it?

And at this point, doesn't Paulk seem like a logical candidate?

It means they would sign and count count towards the 2014 class, but don't enroll until the spring 2015.

Usually it's if it's a small class. Bring the guy in, have him count towards the small class, then he enrolls in the spring. It's essentially the opposite of graduating early - you take a semester off instead of getting in a semester early.

ETA: Well, after looking into it, apparently it can work both ways. You can be high up on a prospect, but not have enough room so you tell him to wait a semester then count him towards the next years class, thus working around the oversigning issue.

I thought they could enroll and be with the team but they would have to pay their own way the first semester.

They are allowed to enroll, but it can't be full time and they have to pay their own way (Most spend it at a JUCO instead since it's cheaper).

They aren't allowed to participate in any team event/meeting.
