but it looks like their defense was just as overrated as the rest of the SEC's. Gurley missed most of the game and lsu still couldn't stop uga.

Now we are going to need either uga to lose to Mizzou, UF and or Auburn or some crazy upset by tenn, vandy or uke.

Although, if uga loses to only UF, and we win out, we might jump them all in the rankings if we beat a #3 clemson in the end. (that's for that three team 1 loss tie breaker.)

All I know is our shot at the SECCG took a hit today.

I'm pretty sure that only goes into effect if the highest ranked team is 5 spots ahead of the second highest ranked which would be incredibly unlikely unless UGA and UF lose to GT and FSU.

Could be wrong though

There could be an unlikely event of a 3 way tie in a division. If uga, uf and USC all had 1 loss, to each other, then the rule states whoever is the highest ranked opponent at the end of the Reg Season goes to the SECCG. We would all be ranked somewhere b/w 5-10. However, if clemsuc remains at #3, that would assume they beat fsu, and our win over clemsuc would push us further ahead in the rankings than ug of uf.

You didn't let just me down, you let the whole conference down. Have you thought of the implications on the national stage here? What if you guys go to the SECCG, and what more if you guys win and play OSU or Oregon, who have even better offenses but much better defenses than y'all. What then? Y'all could lose the SEC winning streak of Naty's. Think about it, you need to do the right thing and lose 2 games. Not just for USC, but for the whole SEC.

That's just it, I don't think he is thinking, he's losing control of the SEC's Naty Hopes.

Side note, good game today, y'all looked great...offensively.

Let me get this straight. Your not only concerned with our SEC Championship game chances but also want to see this bullshite squad in that game? Bro were awful fricking awful. Talk shite on me and hate on me all you want but backing into an SeC Championship game and getting embarrassed again on National TV is not what we need (Auburn ring any bells)UGA IS the best team in the SEC East end of discussion. They will beat Bama also. We can hope to lose two games this year at best Clemson. And we start over and that ain't a bad rebuild year 11-2?

Yea thats the problem. I don't think the rankings tiebreaker is used unless one team is at least 5 spots higher than the other two

If 3 teams in the same division are tied with the same conference record and they all lost 1 to each other, then it is used. So if:

UGA beat USC
UF beat UGA
and
USC beat UF, and they all are 7-1 in conference play, then it could happen. It's a long shot, but there's still a chance.

I think a lot of fans got carried away thinking that USC was going to be dominant this year, despite losing a ton of talent and leadership on defense, plus losing our best position coach in Lawing.

In essence, the fanbase kinda needs to accept that this is a rebuilding year, particularly on the D. If USC does what it is able to do, and win out and possibly sneak into the Sugar Bowl, is that *really* such a bad way for a rebuilding year to go?

I know that we all want to go to Atlanta. But UGA is legitimately the best team in the East this year. They certainly weren't in '11, and I'm really unsure about last year, but they're the best the East has this year.

The Gamecocks just have a lot more to handle and take care of over the next few months. Get better, pick up experience, win some games, and reload for another shot. That's what this program has become, and what is necessary for sustainable success in the SEC.
