I think Friend is a decent coach but why not get an NFL guy in here that has coached his guys up against various pro bowl defensive linemen and linebackers week in and week out.

Again. Someone saying what we need to do. but it is always to say what we need to do. harder to find someone that can do it. I mean, really. If there is an OLine coach that is successful in the NFL, why would he go to a college team to coach the offensive line? He MIGHT to be offensive coordinator..but why go down a level in coaching for a similar position? because he is tired of making NFL money?

However, he has a point. The OLine hasn't been as good as past teams. Hopefully Friend will get it turned around. It will take more than one year. I think last years OLine was improved...and I think before the year is out this years will be considered good.

NFL coaches get fired every year. Wild guess I would surmise 4-5 a year are let go. Maybe 1 or even 2 OL coaches might get sick of moving around all the time or have the threat finding another gig being under an incompetent NFL head coach that is on thin ice. Some may even feel they could parlay a college OL position into a head coaching gig someday.

I understand the NFL is a fraternity but surely UGA can do better than a guy from a small school. I like Friend but we would know if he was the real deal by now, still may be or not. It didn't take BVG a few years to get things sorted out. He performed shortly after being hired and helped the program win two SEC titles off the back of his defense.
