if you go back to game one of 1999,Alabama had to come back in the 4th qtr to beat Vanderbilt in Nashville. The final was 28-17,but Vandy was up 17-14 and Jamie Winborn dropped a int right in his hand where he could have skipped in for a td. Don't think Alabama would have come back from 24-14.

This was just a few weeks after the Debbie Gibson saga broke and the school and DuBose had to pay her big $$$. With that having been Labor Day weekend and such,I've always wondered if Vanderbilt had beaten them and after DuBose's 4-7 and 7-5 marks with the affair, would Alabama have fired him that weekend? Who know, Nick Saban could have been Alabama's coach in 2000.
