Botkin - Golightly is ahead of Diggs, doing all the little things and more consistant. Roberts is doing really well. Cooper is healing. Skai Moore got a lot of praise.

Legree - Talked about the young players. Ahmad is a good player he's improved his technique and speed. Legree has improved his playbook knowledge the most.

Spurrier - "Threw the ball around a little bit." Orth threw it better than anybody. receivers did well. Byrd and Bruce might be out the first game. Hamstrings. Spurrier thinks they have plenty of receivers. Clowney is still bruised up on his shoulder.

Bryant - Competing for Will Backer. He's up to 230 lbs.

Christian - Worked a lot with DJ over the past year.

Grady - Jamari Smith and Cooper was an offense/defense switch that both players agreed to. It was Spurrier's idea. Smith had a INT in tonight's scrimmage. Cooper is dynamic with the ball in his hands.

Walton - There is a lot of competition at LB. Transition from HS to D1 is about getting the vision of the whole field and what everybody is supposed to be doing.

Roberts - Focusing on getting better himself. Unit is a lot faster. Roberts is a Freshman on the field this year. He's been focusing on helping the younger guys with the playbook.

My whole perspective has changed this preseason. For some reason, probably just looking for something that subconsciously reassures me, I am hoping that our young LBs are as good as advertised. If they are, added to what we are returning, then the sky is the limit for this defense.

The way the coaches keep talking up Skai Moore I wonder if he is going to get some playing time this year besides special teams.

I think so. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find him on the 2 deep. Right now, he's probably one of the best candidates to NOT redshirt.
