Meh...you've had those resources and school size for years.

This just isn't true. A&M let their facilities fall way behind in the late '90s right at the time Texas and OU invested big in theirs. By the time A&M was starting to catch up we hired Fran and it set us back another decade. The school has only been large since the mid '80s and hasn't gotten really large until recent years. The key is now those grads from the '80s and '90s are starting to hit donor age and the money is flowing like a river.

The size of the school, the State and the resources behind both have never been anything close to what they are now. Hell, A&M is about to pass Michigan for the 2nd largest Public School Endowment and jumped to the 6th largest AD revenue in a year where we got essentially 0 TV dollars because of the Big 12 buyout. This isn't anything like the past from a resource perspective for A&M.

A&M certainly did dominate the SWC in the Post SMU death penalty era but that only accounted for 3 SWC Titles out of over 20. The real issue there is a lot of LSU folks think that college football started in 2000. Recent history is the most important history but that doesn't erase everything else.
