I found this interesting. Data is based on the historical records from 1974 to 2012.
In order of temp:
College Station, TX
Gainesville, FL
Baton Rouge, LA
Tuscaloosa, AL
Columbia, SC
Starkville, MS
Athens, GA
All the rest are too close to yankee country.

Looks to be pretty marginal in terms of temperature. I'd be interested to see the humidity factor in those towns.

From the same location:
Here are the Dew Points and the crossover date where ideal comfort level is reached in the Fall.
Gainesville, FL - 76° - Oct 30
Baton Rouge, LA - 76° - Oct 23
College Station, TX - 75° - Oct 28
Tuscaloosa, AL - 75° - Oct 20
Starkville, MS - 75° - Oct 18
Columbia, SC - 73° - Oct 24
Athens, GA - 72° - Oct 22
Should help give an idea about humidity, and how long the humidity lasts.
quote:
Dew point is often a better measure of how comfortable a person will find the weather than relative humidity because it more directly relates to whether perspiration will evaporate from the skin, thereby cooling the body. Lower dew points feel drier and higher dew points feel more humid. Over the course of a year, the dew point typically varies from 32°F (dry) to 75°F (very muggy) and is rarely below 16°F (dry) or above 77°F (oppressive).
