Were any State posters there today, Sunday, June 30th. If so it was cool talking to you and you have a lovely wife. That is all

I might also add the the Natchez Trace from Jackson to Natchez has gone to hell in a hand basket. We had family with us from TN and I bragged about how beautiful a drive it always is. Wife had business in Natchez so we all headed down this weekend. I was embarrassed to say the least about what an eyesore it has become. frick the Federal government.

I went to Natchez on Saturday, got a speeding ticket on the way over and on the way back they had a roadblock.

They really don't want my business over there. Roux 61 is great tho.

Sounds like he is just talking out his arse. My deer camp is just past Rocky Springs so I make that trip once or twice a month. There is nothing wrong with the scenery on the Trace except for a few spots where you can see where tornadoes have gone through.

Impossible to get speeding ticket on trace. I haven't seen Trace police in months and I ride it every weekend on my motorcycle

The eyesore I was referring to is the trees that have fallen all the way across the road and they cut a path just big enough for a car to fit through. If you happen to veer off the road just a foot you will get a tree trunk right through your windshield. I am talking about them no longer bush hogging all the way to the tree line. Instead they just do two swipes parallel to the road. I am talking about the people growing corn in Hinds and Claiborne county being allowed to grow it up right next to the easement and beyond. I am talking about all the spots to pull over and site see being over grown in grass and weeds now. I am talking about not keeping maintainence up at sites like Mangum Mound, Mt Locust and Loess Bluff. So no. I am not talking out of my arse. If the federal government can't do a better job of keeping it up then they need to turn it over to the State so it can look like every other shitty back road in Mississippi but at least the speed limit will be faster.

Yeah, you keep thinking this.

As far as the other stuff goes you can thank our federal government.

ETA: I remember my dad getting a ticket for 52 in a 50 when I was a kid.

You miss this part?

There was a day when you could get nailed for going going 55. I have seen absolutely no evidence that it has been patrolled in months

I have been on the Trace twice in the past 2 months and I've seen 4 cops. You are getting lucky. And make no mistake they'll still bust your arse for 2 mph over the speed limit.

The ones that really piss me off is Ridgeland PD getting on the Trace and writing speeding tickets. They've never gotten me but you better believe if they did I'd fight the shite outta that one in court. They have no business being on the Trace.

If they ticket someone on Trace the only way they can do that is if they were in pursuit before car entered Trace.

Where are these police hiding? Because they aren't between Rocky Springs to the south or Ratliff's Ferry to the north.

I am well aware of this but apparently they aren't, or if they are they just don't give a shite. I see em all the time between I-55 and Old Canton Rd pulled off running radar.

Bad storms came through Friday night and impacted from Clinton to Vicksburg south of the towns. Clinton to Port Gibson section of the Trace probably looked rough. Lots of trees down where the Trace runs through. It took a 4 day restoration to get power restored to all customers. 4 day restoration time is pretty significant damage for those not in the Utility sector.
