Not really. The SEC East and the SEC West would cease to exist. I like having a division. I like have a consistent set of teams you are competing with for a shot at Atlanta. Someone narrowly defeats you for the division crown one year, and there is a chance you don't get a revenge game? Convoluted. Not elegant.

that's your complaint vs solving

- home/away scheduling issue
- not playing everyone but every 7 years
- preserving key rivalries
- giving scheduling variety

It's relatively minor. I can appreciate the feel of the division thing but I think that would go away fast because you would constantly have a fresh rotation of games each year. We don't use divisions in all sports btw.
