texashorn,

You don't read well do you? CBS is paying the same amount, that is true, but they GAVE UP THEIR EXCLUSIVITY TO THE 2:30 TIME SLOT! Do you not grasp how HUGE that is? The 2:30 time slot is the premium slot. Was in the Big 12 with ABC and was in the SEC with CBS. Being able to be the only SEC game on TV is worth at least 50% of the value of the slot because you get FAR more carry over viewers. If there is also a 2:30 game on ESPN and the SEC Network at the same time as the CBS game it isn't worth nearly as much and yet they are paying THE SAME.

The value went to ESPN and the SEC Network. The initial numbers are conservative, as they should be, but they are set up to explode as the Network gets picked up. That is going to happen because ESPN owns almost all the content now and will put as many as 3 games a weekend on the SEC Network, then the money will flow like a river.

A&M also just posted the 6th largest amount of revenue in the country last year with almost NO TV money because of the Big 12 buyout and the fact the SEC check doesn't arrive until June 1. To say A&M is in financial trouble is either naive or moronic.
