Tarik Black to Graduate & Transfer

Anybody think we have a shot at this kid? I know we could really use him next year and as a plus he's from Memphis so this would be close to home. Also, we aren't on Memphis schedule for next year so he would be allowed to transfer to us.

Once considered the possible "face of the program," Black, a Memphis native, averaged a career-low 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in a career-low 20.8 minutes this year, mostly because he was almost as likely to get a foul as he was a rebound while on the court despite the fact that he's 6-foot-9, 260 pounds and athletic.
Pastner told CBSSports.com he has "no idea" where Black will transfer. The only restriction on the former top-50 recruit is that he will not be released to any school on the Tigers' schedule, Pastner said.

That's what I was thinking as well and we have the one thing he wants ... Playing Time. I think if he were to transfer him and Jones would be the starters and Cox on relief duty. Plus us making it to the tourney might help to sell him on making the trip south.

We have an available scholarship too. Not a lot of teams do this time of year

Oh wow I didn't know that ... that could be a major factor in getting him to Oxford.
I have heard that two top ten teams have already contacted him though, so this is by no way an easy sell.

I was talking to someone two days ago who would know pretty well if we were in the hunt or not, and he said that Ak had talked to him and it's at the very least a possibility.

He is actually worse than buckner and murph at free throws

Yea I don't really think y'all want him. He doesn't seem to even enjoy playing to begin with. Unless y'all think AK can get his attention and coach him up better than Pastner but I don't see that being likely
