2014 3 star TE Jerry Gibson will be visiting USC this weekend now. Is a Minnesota commit but people think he will flip to USC. Listed as a TE but he can play running back and he is BIG and has impressive speed for his size, love this find. LINK

Sr Highlights

I don't know about the 4.5 40 claim, he wasn't slow but I didn't think he was that fast. He is an athlete though with a well above par motor. He played both ways his Sr year as a HB/RB/DE. When he was rushing the ball he did a good job of finding lanes and anticipating his blockers work, but he ran too high through the LOS and he would turn his shoulders diagonal too often. He isn't a home run threat with the ball as a rusher. Whoever did the videography and editing on that reel could have also done a better job, it wasn't put together well. He has good hands, he can definitely catch the ball out of the backfield in route. I would classify him as a project offer, he'll need a couple years of coaching before we see if the offer-investment pans out. However, with our limited numbers and the level of talent we're brining in, do we really have the ability/desire to do that? I guess so if the coaches want to do it.

This guy reminds me a little of Kelvin Rainey, but Rainey was an even better athlete and offensive weapon. I'm waiting for Rainey to get more involved in our system, he's a ridiculous athlete.
