I hope to hell Arkansas passes this into law.
It is just another example of the Obama government trying to take more and more of our freedoms.
I understand what happened in CT was terrible. The fact is, drugs kill people every day also. So do bombs. Why are we not trying to get legislation to outlaw fertilizers, dry ice, etc.?
1 person was killed on Wedington last night in an automobile accident. Should we outlaw cars as well?
Yes, guns will help with someones death. As will a vehicle, knife, a bat, a bomb, and as do drugs. The common them in all murders/suicides/deaths is their is always a person behind it.
I know, lets just outlaw people all together. I would imagine at that point, it would be viewed that in fact, guns do not kill people.

I've got five if I counted right, but none of them would be affected by any ban on assault weapons.
I don't understand the argument for assault weapons about needing extra protection from the government.
That's like saying your deer rifle or shot gun is not adequate but if you have your AR-15 with your 30 round clip, you're ready to take on that Abrams tank or the Apache helicopter. The argument is ludicris.
In my experiences, I've not developed a fear for my government... on the other hand, I've met a few people in the circles I travel that feel like they need to be loaded down with a 50 cal and two or three assault weapons, homemade silencer, etc....... most of them looked like the guy that might be coming through my door uninvited, not the government.
