Actually reedus it was more directed at this comment made by someone else.

I was a huge fan of the SEC move, and still am for the sake of our long term stability, but I am no longer optimistic about our chances to compete in football in this league. It's going to be nearly impossible to recruit kids to Mizzou with our climate, facilities, resources, tradition, etc. We're severely outmatched by a majority of the SEC

Ok, my bad, because I did make the other statement you referred to and I owned up to it that I should have qualified it.

Now I actually agree with kilo here. He came too strong with that comment. There is no reason to think we cant compete with the correct people in charge. The climate thing is a little overplayed. A couple things.

Wisco and IL have been able to establish pipelines into Florida for years now. This is something that Bielema has boasted about when he made the move to Ark. and was asked about how he will do recruiting the South. At the end of the day, these kids care about the weather alot less than you think. For alot of the top line kids, they want to play in the Southeastern Conference, where they know the cameras are on, and the exposure is a given. Doesnt matter where you play, if you cut it and do well in this conference, they will know who you are. That is a benefit to us. These kids just want to go to a place that will get them PT in the SEC. Tape for scouts to look at. If we offer that chance, then they will come. You just need somebody who can sell it, which is where my worry comes in.

Also, if you have somebody that can sell to recruits, Midwestern kids will flock in as well. Think about this. If you take a Top recruiter from the South, they will have to go up against UT, UGA, UF, Aub, Bama, LSU, USC, etc. Now take that same guy and put him in Missouri, trying to get regional recruits. He just went from trying to beat out a top of the line recruiting school to trying to beat a KSU, kU, Iowa, Illini, Indiana, etc. I get those arent talent-rich areas but there are still several blue chips produced in this region every year. Somebody could seriously CLEAN UP here.
