You are looking at LSU as the anomaly, when you should be looking at why the other teams aren't hitting as well with men in scoring positions.
Because LSU was the anomaly in 2012... Here is a chart a metric guy put together for one of the Rivals sites. tRuns = extrapolated runs and Runs = actual runs.

My stab at a prediction

1) Arkansas
2) LSU
3) MSU
4) OM
5)TAMU
6)Bama
7)Auburn

I flipped 6 and 7, because there needed to be at least one upset pick. I really think MSU is going to be the 'best of the rest'-- which means they're a Top 8 type baseball team. If that's knocking the Bulldogs, then I'm knocking 'em.

Maybe TAMU can pass Ole Miss. Maybe Ole Miss can find a quick turnaround on their lost offensive production-- but those teams have more question marks to me, than the three teams at the top.

You're still not hearing me. It's not uncommon for the second-fourth place team in the league to lead the conference in runs.

Historically, clutch hitting with men in scoring position is the number one difference between winning the conference and finishing second.

Since LSU has won the west more times than anyone else in the last five years, this should be expected.
