Question about Brown

Is this guy mentally fragile or what? I keep hearing quotes from coaches and players like "we don't want to put to much pressure or too many expectations on the guy, but he's the best shooter on the team."
Just curious if he left Oregon so abruptly was a mental thing, like he felt like he couldn't hack it, or was there something more?
It seems like, if he's what coaches and teammates say, then he should just be expected to go out there and do his thing, if he's got it, he'll perform.
As an aside, I know absolutely nothing of this kid. I've never seen him play at any level, so this could all be misconstrued by me.

I think they know there are really high expectations, and as a freshman who has only played in 2 games, it's unfair to see him as the savior of the team. I think he has a ton of upside and talent, but Haith would like to temper expectations, just like he would for any freshman.

He's a freshman. Nevermind.
He didnt lose a year with the transfer? Wy am I so lost about this guy?

He played 2 games as a true freshman with Oregon, and he struggled some. HS kid adjusting to college talent, most likely. Then he decided to transfer. He probably is officially a sophomore, but in reality, he's a freshman in terms of playing time.
His coach at Oregon decided to start a true freshman, and he struggled - as would most any true freshman in that situation. No one knows exactly why he decided to transfer, but he was shoved head-first into a tough situation with uber-high expectations. Not many freshmen have immediate success, it takes several games.

I think people are expecting him to be the savior and Haith is saying pump the brakes.

That's what I thought, but reading between the lines in the STL Post article I got a different vibe. Of course it's the Post, so I'll take it with a grain of salt.

I'm not expecting him to go off for 30 but I am excited to see what he can contribute tonight.

The more I think about it, over the course of the season, is there any reason to think he can't/won't contribute to the same extent McLemore is with ku?
