Yes they are, and it doesn't matter where they end up either. No possible way they end up together in expansion. Just not going to happen...
UNC/Duke have actually made a pact to stay in the same conference. They are determined to not split up at all costs.

I've paid as much attention and have as good of understanding of this as anyone. The only POSSIBLE way they stay together is if UNC stays with them in a dying ACC. When $40mil+ is on the table, old loyalties go out the window.
UNC fans would warm up to a UK rivalry so fast it would blow your mind. They could still play Duke OOC - just like UK plays Louisville.
