He inherited a team that went 4-12 the previous season and immediately made them 9-7 in his first year. During the offseason, they put all their chips on Drew Brees and then he failed a physical so they were forced to sign Culpepper at the last minute. Then Culpepper tore his shoulder up, and Miami went 6-10, but had plenty of things to look forward to as they ended winning 5 out of 6 and had the defensive MVP and their injury and roster situations were shaping up.

His NFL career was not some epic disaster. He actually did fairly well considering it was only two years, and was in absolutely no danger of losing his job. Why do you think they were so mad in Miami when he left? Would they have cared if he sucked?
