they certainly were but Northwestern, despite being a well coached team, simply lacks the athletes to even be an interesting matchup. It was bad last year and we had an interim coach and a relatively disinterested team.
That matchup would be bad for the Cap One bowl and bad for the SEC because people would find another game 5 minutes in.

If only they would do away with bowl tie ins... The only traditional game should be the Rose Bowl.
