The point is correct that Florida 2012 is on the outside looking in because they didn't win their division. They lost to UGA and now get to go to the Sugar Bowl at 11-1.
This is EXACTLY what should have happened to Alabama 2011, regardless of the result of the NCG. However, since it didn't and Bama won, they are the undisputed champion of 2011. If Okie St had been undefeated, Bama would have definitely been on the outside. Still, it seems like winning a BCS conference (Big XII) should mean something.
A Bama fan making a comment about needing to win a division/conference to be legit is like an LSU fan embracing an AP National Championship without winning the BCS NCG - which was under discussion if the NCG had been a close game.
If you try to have it both ways, you look like a major hypocrite.
