Wait wut?? The conference champion can't play in the BCS National Championship Game? I must be reading that wrong....

This would only be possible in a situation where the SEC champ had sucked in non-conf play, dropping a few games. Say Bama went undefeated all year and lost to South Carolina in the SECCG. South Carolina is a 3 loss team, dropping 3 non conf games but ran through the SEC west undefeated which is why they are the champion. Florida is undefeated, save for one conference loss to the Gamecocks.

You could have 1-loss Bama and 1-loss Florida in the BCSNCG, with 3-loss South Carolina in the Sugar Bowl.

Ahhhh yes! Thanks for clearing that up. The way the post I replied to was worded made it sound like the SEC Champ could never play in the NCG and I knew that wasn't right. It's late.... I'm tired so I must have just missed the boat on what was being said
