4* WR from Charlotte, NC. What was the story on his recruitment from our end? I believe we're out of it now, just wondering if we were ever in the running or what he might've said a/b our program given our recent NC success and his proximity to USC.

We recruited him and offered him last year I believe, but weren't ever really one of the top leaders for him. It was always a case of "if he visits, we have a great shot at him", but he's never visited and hasn't publicly made plans to. He did have Clemson as a favorite, but backed off of them once Mike Williams committed to them. I'm not sure where he's leaning to now, but I don't think we're a factor with him...

Thanks for the response. I'd like to see us close w/ a WR in this class. Looks like Taj is the guy for now but we'll see.
Is it just me or does it seem like Clemson has an inordinate amount of WR's? 3 from 2011, 1 from 2012, and 3 now lined up for 2013... yet by most accounts they're still pursuing Terry and North? Very envious of their success in that dept. Watkins is the type of player whose visibility on the nat'l scene has paid huge dividends in attracting other recruits. Figured the same would happen w/ Clowney for us but I haven't seen it so far (at least in terms of recruiting elite--ratings wise--DE's)

I'm reading on other sites that Akia Booker of Byrnes has made substantial strides forward with his grades....the in-state schools were backing off of him due to his academics, but if he qualifies we might make a move on him....
