I feel like this kinda thing on Bear's statue lead to a couple trees getting spiked.

No , mental illness lead to the trees getting poisoned. That crazy dude was going to snap after Bama blew that game in 2010. Also, 75% of people who I saw see them in Knoxville were laughing hard. The were mostly frat boys.
