My friends back in Austin started a trickle of texts after we beat LSU. It turned into a flood yesterday. I think this has made them all hate Mack even worse.

I'd say so. His replacement is a total joke.

Yeah, they all like Muschamp, though a few of them have forgotten just how down they were on him in 2010.

They love him. At least on Shaggy

Here is some quotes from a thread with the youtube video clip of Muschamp yelling at a reporter:

quote:

Jesus I miss that guy.

quote:

Mack couldn't carry booms jock.
Thats why he got rid of him.

quote:

I don't want to talk about Boom. It hurts too much.

quote:

I, for one, wanted Mack to step down and let Will take over. Given the choice between the two I was all in on Muschamp. I believe most were in the same bucket.

quote:

Muschamp would have done that for us and we had it in our grasp. Then we $#@!ed it all up and kept everyone's friend the can't coach worth a $#@! guy instead.

quote:

Years later and you guys still think Boom wouldn't have coached up the kids on our roster? When Boom came in supposedly we didn't have kids on D who could play. Next thing you know we had a D-line with two former running backs (Melton and Houston), one of who was even a DE who we moved to DT. Rak became tremendous. We plucked a couple kids off the bench to play LB, and four new guys in the secondary. By the time we got through the OU game, it was obvious we were going to be pretty salty on that side of the ball.

Now look in the NFL. Melton, Houston, Randall, Acho, Acho, Kindle, Rak, Muck, Robinson, Brown, Brown, Thomas, and even Gideon all have gotten NFL looks. Practically the entire defense went to the NFL, and quite a few of them were lost before Boom, or lower star guys. The guy sees where people can affect the game, coaches em up, and plugs them in. I don't question his talent evaluation and neither should any of you. After what he did here, you guys should show some respect.

Henry Melton was one of the softest players on the team in 2005. Ask the Ohio State defense. Now he is one of the best interior D-linemen in the league, and questioning the toughness of his alma-mater. That turnaround can be credited to Boom.

2009 was probably one of the best defenses we've had in our history. Teams were absolutely terrified to drop back and throw it against us. They also weren't getting much traction in the running game. All that, and it wasn't even close to the most talent we've had on that side of the ball. We just played with physicality and attitude, and were pretty solid fundamentally.
