Holy shite. Watching that I realized two things.
The refs don't call delay of game on Bama because of crowd noise... And the QB for bama kept letting the ref know he couldn't hear. Are you serious??
Also, we fumbled it on the last play of the game to almost give them the game back. I'm surprised the refs didn't screw us over on that play.

If this weeks game goes like this one I would say we have a chance. Bama went into this game as defending national champions and had a pretty long win streak if I'm not mistaken. I know we cannot make any mistakes.

The "cowbell solution" back then was the QB could claim he couldn't hear, and the offense would get a fresh playclock. Witness Bama on O in the first of that clip.
There was no fumble on the last play. The Bama noseguard slapped the ball before the snap.

The Bama noseguard swatted the ball as soon as the center started the snap. That caused the fumble. Illegal as all frick, but who knows what the refs would have done had Bama gotten on the ball.

we didn't fumble it. A Bama d lineman slapped it out of the center's hand right as he snapped it. Luckily one of our players fell on it but the refs saw it happen and didn't call it. I believe Bellard called the ref on it and he said "you won the game, what more do you want" or something to that effect.

Growing up we had an old truck on our property. We used to use it to drive down to fish or haul what we needed. On the tailgate of that old truck was a bumper sticker that read, "I was there when we beat the bear! 6 -3". My dad and grandfather used to tell me stories about how great that day was and they hoped I would get to see something like that. My grandfather used to say, he was never more proud of the old maroons after that one. Looking forward to my memory this saturday night. Hopefully my grandfather will get to see it one more time!!! Hail State!!
