Welcome to TD and thanks for posting that. Having children changes the way you prioritize and view life, having a child go through something like that certainly puts life in perspective. Best wishes to you and yours - assume your daughter began kindergarten this year?

Yes nc14, she did start Kindergarten! It has been a pretty sweet thing for us. I'm pretty sure I'll be an extra sappy father through each phase of my girl's life after what she went through. We still have scans every four months to make sure she's okay and have to do this the next four years (even with insurance, it's a lovely hit to the wallet). It's a very nerve-wracking experience. Hoping the chemo didn't cause any long term problems. We're told she'll have a 50/50 chance of being able to have kids.

You know, when the oncologist tells you there is a 90% chance your child will beat cancer it totally changes how you look at it. The experience was a total pain in the butt for all involved (bunch of overnight hospital stays having to wake up every 90 minutes for a bathroom visit). But you just adjust your life and deal with it. If we had been told her outlook was at 50% I would have been a basket case through that year.
