lsu was shite recruiting before saban got there.

Not sure if serious.
Louisiana always has produced good athletes, even prior to Saban. LSU missed out on a few good prospects from our state, while it was down in the 90's, but still got a good number of recruits from LA and TX. The issue was having a coach who was consistent, and/or getting a coach who couldn't get the players straightened out, on and off the field.

No I don't think Bama would have tolerated another embarrassing coach. After all the probations, coaches banging office assistants, coaches banging strippers etc. Miles might work for LSU, but most Bama fans would like a coach that can put together a coherent sentence. Also I doubt he could hold up against a 365, 24/7 rival like Auburn. Things work a lot different in AL than LA. The Bama boosters are a lot harder to organize. When 40% of the state is trying to get you on probation constantly its a
much tougher job.
