I am still miffed over the fact that 5 cycles in we have yet to pull a Ronald Powell type recruit. A top 5 national guy not from the South who just gets excited about us and commits on a whim.

I said type. After UF won 2 of 3 there was no talk about them being deep, they went and signed a bunch of national dudes. Its just weird after the way we have dominated recruiting for us to be so regionally boxed in.

We do not do well with the guys who commit on an emotional high. We lay out a plan for each recruit and they make their decision based on all of the facts. Because of our success we are able to cast a wide net and pick from a large pool of recruits. That means much more failure in recruiting than success. We do not have to put all our eggs in a couple baskets and promise them the world.
It is a luxury to have our program running at such a high level that we are able to consistently attract the top recruiting classes in the nation without guys committing on emotional highs.

Yeah, Thompson will be judged on the 2014 class. Is at all active in Mobile? or is Pruitt handling that alone?

The thing that irks me is Nkemdiche's insistence that "Clemson" produced quality Defensive Ends when that coach is now on our staff. Unless they are growing them at the Ag center Clemson had nothing to do with it.
I feel we really lost him when Upshaw went 2nd round. Every recruiter probably said that is you as a 3-4 tweener. About the draft is when he started losing interest in us and UGA anyway.
