I can't really argue with the trust issue.
The Texas athletics administration does tend to play political hardball almost all of the time.
I would like to modify my statement about Nebraska voting with Texas on almost every issue; they were the lone vote to keep the old partial qualifiers, and the lone vote against a championship game (but they did vote for unequal revenue sharing).

That's the thing. I know it sounds trite, but the SEC really is an equal fraternity. One school playing hardball doesn't have a frame of reference here. Slive made it a point to say A&M and Mizzou are welcome as equals from here on out. He also made it a point to say there is no buyout, if someone wants to leave...bye.
