Georgia has been recruiting lights out for the last 20 years

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We've recruited very well, nobody will deny that. Anytime you bring in top 10 talent you're positioning yourself for big things. However, we've seen in recent memory that you need more than top 10 talent, you need top 3 talent. Bama, Florida, and LSU's titles as of late have come at the heels of top 1 or 2 recruiting classes. And not just one, a string of several in a row. Good coaching goes a long way for sure, but it also helps to have more talent than the other team for all but maybe 1 game you play.

Also, even if you don't have a run of top 3 classes it doesn't matter if you have a megastar that transcends the game. Cam Newton and Vince Young singlehandedly won their teams national titles. UGA hasn't had anybody like that, and we've never had a top 2 class under Richt. 2 years ago we were 4th, and we had some MAJOR contributers from it. Then we took a step back last year.

Sooo....yeah, we've recruited well under Richt. But we haven't recruited "lights out" the way other SEC teams have.
