What you got is a shithole college in a shite hole town and they turn out accountants and vets. it makes for some creepy, boring fare. I worked with some of those grads and thinking back on that time, my skin crawls.

To be fair, Manhattan isn't the worst town out there with a military base dominating the area. (Ft. Riley is located there)
