You're right but for all the wrong reasons. LSU was showing signs of being a great program under Dinardo. In 1996, LSU finished the season ranked 12th in the country and in 1997, they finished the year ranked #13 in the country. In 1997, they also beat Spurrier's Florida team that finished the season ranked in the top 5. Than LSU completely regressed in his last two years there. But they were showing signs of a sleeping giant that was starting to awaken. Dinardo deserves a lot more credit for his role in LSU's current success.

So, what you're saying is that because LSU finished outside the top 10 twice and beat a top 5 team once that they were a great team? Are you an Ole Miss fan?

No he doesn't.

But LSU -- and by LSU, I mean the local talent, everything made Saban.

Without LSU, he may have gone on to have a mediocre pro career.
