That question is not relevant here. The relevant question is "Can you be the 2nd best team in FBS football and not be the best team in your division?"

And the answer is "yes, when the best team in FBS is also in your division".

The question is.. do you give the benefit of the doubt to a 1-loss team with 6 wins over ranked opponents, or a 1-loss SEC runner up with 2 wins over ranked opponents? We already know that LSU is better than Alabama. We don't know that LSU is better than Oklahoma St. We all think that LSU is, but we do not know it.

I think one thing many aren't taking into account is the common opponents LSU and Bama have faced. Admittedly, LSU has had a tougher schedule, but against common opponents the scores have been almost identical.

I'm not saying it's right, but when people see LSU manhandle a team like Oregon and a good/decent team like WVU, they ASSUME Bama would do the same to those teams as well. Because of the OT finish and the blowouts against common opponents.

Again, not saying that's the way it should be, but these two teams are so similar, that by LSU blowing out good teams, Bama benefits as well.

So here's to the 2011 LSU Tigers, helping Bama to the BCSNCG by blowing everyone else out but us!

Thank you TIGERS!!
