Heading to Oxford for a wedding this weekend, and we (the wife and I) will have one dinner not accounted for in the wedding agenda. Looking for some recommendations. Price is no object and we enjoy all kinds of food. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

City Grocery has been very good the two times I've gone

If price is no object.....City Grocery would probably be your best bet.
Or 208.....both are on the square.

Thanks much. City Grocery keeps popping up everywhere I look so that's probably the place for dinner.
Anywhere else y'all would recommend for cocktails/snacks/pre-meal meals/etc.?

If you don't mind a short drive from the square then go to the Ravine. Amazing food.
Also Lenoras kicks City Grocerys arse all day every day.

I'm not being a smartass at all when I say this, but walk around the square and hit the joints that are full and that have an appealing menu. One exception, the Rib Cage. Don't eat there, it blows.
At least, it did during the LSU baseball series last year...

This is very true. Some damned good eats on the Square.

City grocery I think is overrated but it is still good I just prefer boorè. Oh and my sister will be working that wedding, she just left to go back for the weekend.

It really depends on what you want. City Grocery is boss, but so is Ajax, Boure, 208, and a handful of other places.

Also roosters and proud larrys have good appetizers as well as good drink specials.

Thanks again. Looks like it'll be City Grocery for dinner and some of the other spots for cocktails & snacking.

Some pizza place by some bookstore in a square. Delicious. Go there

Make sure you check the menu before you go to city grocery. It's not very big, but everything on it is unique and delicious, just make sure there's something you like on it.
Menu
I recommend the pork shank. One of the best things I've ever eaten.
Ravine is probably the best restaurant, but isn't as unique or on the square. Waltz is very good as well. A lot of people like 208, but I dont really care for their menu, but Im not big on seafood and 208 is probably the best seafood in the city. If you're staying the night and want some lunch the next day I recommend Roosters or Blind Pig. Ajax would be good too if youre looking for good southern cruisine. If you get up and want breakfast Bottletree Bakery and Big Bad Breakfast are both awesome

I think that might be the most overrated restaurant I have ever been to. What really sucks is I've been there like five times.

I dont get it. Anytime I'm with someone they almost mention wanting to eat at the Ribcage. Hell thats where the coaches took Masoli on his offical visit. Its not good people.
