Actually someone could land a great job from Vandy if you are lucky and the timing is right. Look at Mack Brown and Tommy Bowden. Mack Brown rode the Green Wave at Tulane on the arm and scrambling ability of Terrance Jones. After good results culiminating in a great year by Jones, Mack went on to bigger things at UNC. Bowden did the same thing at Tulane with Sean King including an undefeated year. Bowden went on to Clemson. All these guys had to do was make a good showing at a non-football school which they did. Vandy being in the SEC makes it a little tougher though.
