Where'd you get this from?

Off a "What if Cam goes Pro" thread. Most Auburn posters seem to believe that if Cam does go to the NFL that Trotter is good enough that Auburn wont miss a beat or miss Cam.

Is Trotter that talented of a runner? I thought he was a drop back passer?

He's obviously not as talented at Cam. I doubt you ever read anybody suggest anything close to that. Like all teams that have great players, when they leave, there's some dropoff...that's not unique, or uncommon to football. The offense will go back to being much less option, and much more balanced run/PA Pass. How good Trotter will be as a full time starter is anybody's guess. If you think you've uncovered something super secret in there being a dropoff after Cam, well then, ok.

Obviously he is not Cam...but he is not a drop back passer. His HS ran a similar spread offense to what AU runs.
