I'd have to say that there was one instance where I went to this church gathering with some friends. It wasn't my church, but it was a late night thing for teens in this really hardcore Baptist church.

Basically, we were invited by one of our football teammates, and many of us went thinking it would be a fun little "yay god, be a good kid" kind of thing. No biggie right? It turned into this dude screaming at us to the backdrop of Jesus getting beaten in Passion of the Christ. He told us all sorts of crazy shite like everytime we have drink, smoke, have sex, get head, or even jack off, that Jesus was getting beaten all over again. They even had this dude on stage, hung from a cross, and they were hitting him with those fake whips you get from the Cracker Barrel.

Seriously graphic shite for a simple church gathering. Many of us were like "wtf is this shite, lets GTFO of here!" I wasn't all that bothered at first. No jacking off was the deal breaker though.
