Bill, I thought you said you spent half your life writing about this rivalry. If thats true, how are so ill informed as to how Bryant came to Alabama. He came AS A PLAYER GENIUS! NOT A COACH! Thats right, Bryant came as an 18 year old kid to play for a team that had been to the Rose Bowl (three times by the time he got here). He was given the opportunity in a pool hall when Hank Crisp came to recruit another kid. He left Texas A&M to coach his Alma Mater- which was the most common destination for the best coaches then. Please do some research before you call me out again.

Oh, and I know the NCAA made rule changes that affected teams like USC, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklhoma, Michigan, just becuase of Alabama. GAWDAM aint we special!
By the way, the first scholarship limits (105) occured in 1973. The next limit (95) occured in 1978. The last (85)occured in 1992. We have national titles in all those periods. How bout Auburn?
