re: What would you make Ole Miss mascot be?

saw this posted on another board. they were discussing the Ole Miss mascot situation:

As a native New Englander, I am not impressed with Southern history, but that being said, they (Ole Miss) should show a little pride and find a mascot that represents their past as well as the present and future. Certainly there are more creative students than the idiot Star Wars freaks.
If I am not mitaken there are several great writers, like William Faulkner from Mississippi. Not sure how to turn that into a mascot, but an author is better than a fictional (science fiction) character.

Maybe they should name themselves the Ole Miss Yankees and make their mascot a diminutive Jewish investment broker named Milton with massive thick rimmed glasses from New York who rides around the stadium in a hybrid Volvo and comes out of the car with a latte and an asthma inhaler with rainbow gay pride symbols all over his suit and an AIDS quilt as his superman cape.
