2008- Tennessee, 5-7, 6 ret starters, 16.8 ppg, 264 ypg
2007- Tennessee, 10-4, 5 ret starters, 27.3 ppg,404 ypg
2006- Tennessee, 9-4, 4 ret starters, 19.5 ppg, 328 ypg
2005- Tennessee, 5-6, 9 ret starters, 18.6 ppg, 298 ypg

2004-Tennessee, 10-3, 3 ret starters, 22.7 ppg, 356 ypg

Read the stats and weep. Or ignore them because an Idiot posting stats makes them less legitimate.
I've got a couple of theories behind this, but nothing I could prove. One theory is David Cutcliffe syndrome.

Also worth noting, Of the 12 teams Tennessee played last year, 6 were in the bottom 20/not in the top 100 of scoring offense.
UF and UGA were the only teams in the top 52, with UAB at 53 being the third best offensive team that Tennessee played last year.

Chavis may be a bust, but he has a lot of talent to work with this year.

are you saying they allowed that many points per game or scored that many points per game....

if they scored that many then thats the reason they sucked

if they allowed that many points those two years then their offense gave no support

John Chavis led defenses' success tend to be inderectly proportional to the overall success of a team.
Team is good=Chavis defense bad
and vice versa

Huge difference between the talent on D between TN and LSU.

We'll see. We'll see.

I agree.
I'm just saying that everyone gives Chavis way too much credit.

Dont know about that. He has put together some pretty good defenses in his time. He has been behind the 8 ball in terms of talent the past few years. Besides Berry of course.

We've beaten you two or three times in the past ten years.
I'm going to stir shite whether or not we are any good.

i think most LSU fans have a "wait and see" attitude on the chavis hire. that and cautious optimism
