is the last first time national champion. Is that finally coming to an end?
Miami is a familiar face in this realm having won five in 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991, 2001 and playing for titles in 1985, 1986, 1992, 2002.
Oregon has been a known fixture since 1994 and has had several NC-caliber teams; probably should have played for the title in 2001, and two losses in a BCS and CFP title game.
Ole Miss claims three national titles with a strong case to be the 1960 national champion but no wire service polls awarding them one. One can say 2025 is easily their best team of all time and has what it takes to be first time unanimous.
We all know by now that Indiana is lacking in football prestige other than now and last season. There last best season was a 9-1-0 regular season finish in 1967 winning a share of the B1G and finishing AP #4.
