The impetus behind the 9 conference game schedules?

I’m sure it’s been discussed ad nauseam on here but could y'all briefly explain to this simpleton why the SEC would move to make our schedules any more difficult? Does Sankey hate us? Surely there should have been AD/HC buy-in before this was agreed upon? Did some coaches and/or ADs actually support it?

I don't know if Sankey hates us.

But if it came out he was a Big10 plant, every decisions he's ever made would make complete sense.

Because we added two big teams and got zero money for it

And Sankey , he was told by the networks if we want more money we had to add another game

Did Sankey make the decision on his own? Does he have some sort of advisory board? Did the ADs have input?

Sankey said we need the 9th conference game for player safety....

I know thats really stupid but it worked for Goodell when the NFL added a game.
