Longest Win Streak in Georgia vs. Georgia Tech Football Rivalry
The Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate rivalry between the Georgia Bulldogs (University of Georgia) and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets has a storied history dating back to 1893. Based on comprehensive series records, the longest win streak belongs to Georgia Tech with 8 consecutive victories from 1949 to 1956. This streak, overseen by legendary Tech coach Bobby Dodd, remains the benchmark for dominance in the series and is the longest by either team.
Georgia has achieved three separate 7-game win streaks, tying for the second-longest:
1991–1997
2001–2007
2017–2024
These streaks highlight Georgia's modern-era control of the rivalry, where they hold a 41–14 record since 1969. Earlier in the series (pre-1969), the rivalry was more balanced, but Tech's 1949–1956 run stands out as the pinnacle.
Current Win Streak (as of November 24, 2025)
The 2025 matchup, the 119th edition of the rivalry, is scheduled for November 29, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (neutral site). As of today, no game has been played, so Georgia holds the active streak of 8 consecutive wins (2017–2024). The most recent game in 2024 ended in a dramatic 42–40 Georgia victory in 8 overtimes.

After winning a nattie, besting Tech's 8 game streak is on of the last things I want to see before I die.

Got to sit down and talk to Coach Dodd in 1986, two years before he died. He was a true getleman who any kid would want to play hard for.
