Something I've enjoyed doing this season with our big games is going way back to the late 70's to present day & watching off youtube only our victories against that weekend's opponent. It's really nostalgic watching so many great players I had forgotten about & the big plays that made a difference in those victories. Of course against the Vols I had to get started Monday evening because we've beat'em so many times. I select the shortened 25-30 minute versions.

I was at the 1979 game where we fell behind 17 to 0 before scoring just prior to half. We came out in the second half and gotta stop somewhere around the 35 or 40 yard line on the Tennessee side of the 50 with a Thomas Boyd sack. I was watching through my binoculars and listening to John Forney call and as Boyd sacked Jimmy Streeter Forney is calling the game saying for the first time today the Redwood Forest has risen to the occasion! We went on to win 27 to 17. The crowd was going crazy and I lowered my binoculars and looked around me and there were these rich people in the alumni section between the 40 and 50 yard line press box side at Legion field in tears. They were hugging each other and the emotion was flowing. I knew right then we were gonna win that game.
