Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Miami fans might think they did but any rational Alabama fan should know we did not belong in the CFP. I would have loved to see us in simply because of the melts, but I'm fine being on the outside looking in because this team does not have what it takes to win it all in 2024.

That all said, I think this highlights why 12 teams are just too many. I'm sorry, but teams like Clemson, SMU, Notre Dame, Arizona State, Indiana, Penn State, and even maybe Texas and Tennessee do not belong in the CFP.

At the end of the day, this season has shown us that there are TWO teams that are worthy enough to play for a national championship: Oregon and Georgia.

So basically, we never needed a playoff. Just play AP top 1 vs 2.
