Pros and cons of playing SECCG

PROS
• We could fricking win! If it's Texas, the spread would probably be closer to a pick em or Texas might be a slight favorite. shite, we might even end up as the betting favorite.
• I don't think we're consistent enough to win 4 playoff games in a row. We might be too inconsistent to win 3 playoff games in a row. But 3 would definitely work better and improve our statistical chances.
• 25 days in between games. For the "we wouldn't be risking injury if we miss the SECCG," we would still be "risking injury" if we played in the first round of the playoffs, except any injury in the SECCG would have either two weeks or 25 days to heal before the next game, while any injury in the first round of the playoffs would have 8 or 9 days to heal.
• Winning the SEC in the first year of the new expansion would be epic. Watching our players rip the giant SEC logo off of the wall and holding it up in the confetti after the game is always epic. Major trash talking point.
• Kirby needs more conference titles for his legacy. He has the same number of national championships as SEC championships. Saban got into this same pattern at Bama. Actually had more national titles than SEC titles after his first 5 seasons. But then he broke out of it.
CON
If we have another clunker like the Ole Miss game, we could miss the playoffs altogether. Recency bias and instant overreactions in the 18 hours between the end of the SECCG and the CFP selection show is real. Been there, done that.
I will admit that the only con is sort of a biggie

Looks like we are going

Only if A&M loses. If they beat Auburn they will play Texas twice

I guess that Ole Miss and Bama could claim head to head but at the same time they lost late in the season to unranked teams.

Pro: if we lose to tech we still have a chance at playoffs.

No way we get left out even with a loss. No way…

If atm loses to Texas or auburn and Bama losses to OK or auburn and we're in. We clinch tonight with atm and Bama losses

The Nerdometer9000 SECCG Simulator is down right now, but my only question is what happens if Texas AM comes back and wins tonight and then wins again next week against Texas.

If A&M beats Auburn and loses to Texas, they play Texas in SECCG. If A&M beats Auburn tonight and Texas next week, we play A&M in SECCG

They can say what they want but teams with the same record in conference play the first tie breaker is head to head. So I don't put a lot of confidence in what they say now. Also you know with Saban at espn they will start lobbying for Bama.

Bama is done after tonight.

The Simulator is back up, and apparently it doesn't make a frick what Texas A&M does against Auburn, in terms of keeping us out.

False. You got to put in the data right. Ole Miss lost to UF.
If Aggies win tonfiir and lose next week it's a Aggie longhorn rematch. But it is based on conference opponents record so lot of moving parts.
